@udb23 hi fellas! thanks for the help...i think I will be able to get this done. I've gone and got a keyboard, entered my WiFi login details into the retropie WiFi screen so should have a connection there?
Now to get to the screen where I have to input the text... I'm pressing F4? Now it comes up like an old dos screen (its been a while lol) With the red yellow and green joystick in the top left.
Pi@retropie:~ $_ [I enter the first line of the command]It trys to clone github.com but says
Remote:not found
Fatal: repository 'https://github.com/' not foundThink i have probably done something simple incorrectly? In the F4 screen it does supply an IP address but im not 100% sure if I have a connection either?
I'm properly enjoying this too fellas! :D
Cheers! -

@udb23 Thanks buddy! Yes I've entered my WiFi login and it displays the details all ok. I was trying to establish if I had a connection so I've loaded up Kodi and I've got a successful stream to a movie running ok.
Also obtained Ip address and updated one of the ES themes ok...conection seems ok
Each time I try get the same message when I try and clone the repo? -
-
@mattyl42 are you sure you input the line exactly?
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/meleu/rpie-art
I tried that URL with a browser and it works. -
@udb23 great artwork. thankyou buddy.

I think if i can do that anyone can :D Cheers for the help and all the hard work making these fellas! I was copying the script off my phone screen- I was only viewing partialy up to .com. I didn't realise it continued to scroll across. I got a really good lesson out of having a go at that.
I thought id be scared of the script download system but is easy to use and I love the look and arcade feel to overlays! Properly impressive. Im finding it really cool to watch the attract mode through a few times and have a good old study of the game features on the 'bezel'...it really adds something! -
Thank you for these, they look great. Getting overlays working is my project for the weekend. Script by meleu is the easiest way to do it you say?

yes.
But if you have confidence with the Pi folder system and can connect from windows or mac to shared folders, you can just copy the files to the specific folders.
Have a look at the install_readme.txt file here as an example. -
