      Hi,

      I have a RasberryPi 3 with the most recent version of Retropie installed. I've bought kickstart roms from Colanto and installed Amiberry following the instructions exactly in several Youtube guides I put the Kickstart Roms (renamed kick12.ROM, kick13.ROM etc). In Amiberry 'Paths' I select the system rom path as all the tutorials say in the 'BIOS' folder in the 'Main ROM file' I navigate to the same location and select the correct ROM for the Amiga model I want to emulate and when I run a game I just get a black screen. I've tried all sorts of variations but no success.

      Is there a problem with Amiberry? Is this a known bug or is there something I've missed/not been told?

      Thanks for any help in advance!

        @dave146 hi,

        When you start the rom does the run command come up 'press a to configure' , if it does press a and select the emulator you set up in amiberry to run the rom

        Example 'a500' or 'a1200'

          @retrorod hey,

          Sorry for the delay in replying I'd all but given up.

          Yes I get the 'press a to configure' and when I select the emulator I set up in amiberry I get a black screen. The Kickstart Roms are in the right place and everything's where the tutorials say. I've tried everything. I've used Amiga Forever before with no such problems. Am I missing something not mentioned in the tutorials or is amiberry just broken?

            Hi,

            It's probably a problem with your kickstart rom,I will check mine in the morning and see if I can help you.when on the run command screen does it say amiga. I had the same problem and was pulling my hair out and about to give up until I realised that I had to set the system identifier to 'amiga' in the config file.

              I've spent the evening trying some emulators recommended by RetroPie, specifically UAE4ALL2 and UAE4ARM and despite following the instructions on the Retropie website for placing both the Kickstart Roms and the adf files none of them work. I've had no such problem with any of the other emulators I've tried ZXSpectrum, SNES etc. I've spoken to a friend who also has a Retropie and he's had the same problem with Amiga emulation. So I guess Amiga emulation just doesn't work at all? Again I've had no such problem with Amiga Forever on PC so people have managed to make a functional Amiga emulator.

              A couple of questions before I give up.

              Has anyone managed to get any Amiga emulator to work on the Retropie?

              If the emulators included with Retropie don't work is there one that does?

              Is there some way to get Amiga Forever to work on the Retropie as this works on my PC and is currently the only functional Amiga emulator I've ever seen work on any format!

              Apologies if this seems a bit desperate but I'd really like some of my old Amiga games to work on this thing and although I've seen some Youtube videos showing the games working none of them explain how they did it.

                @dave146 I think the problem is that cloanto uses decrypted Roms for Amiga Forever. At least that's what I found when I did a quick search. It sounds you have to use the rom.key file to decrypt those. I don't know if you can set a path to the file in Amiberry.

                  @ectoone hi,

                  Why would decrypted Roms be a problem, do you mean encrypted?

                  I've actually bought Roms from Colanto that include the Key file. I don't think the problem is with the Roms, I suspect the emulators bundled with Retropie don't work. Perhaps they worked in an earlier version, but as far as I can see the latest versions are broken.

                    It's always worked for me but this takes it to another level....
