I am running Ninja Baseball Batman in AdvanceMAME 3.5 which runs fine in the correct aspect ratio of 4:3. When I relaunch the rom in advanceMAME 3.5, the aspect ratio is preserved but if I now launch the rom in AdvanceMAME 0.94, the game is stretched to 16:9. If I reboot the system, the rom will play in 4:3 in AdvanceMAME 0.94.

Exiting AdvanceMAME 3.5 will also stretch to 16:9 emulators such as DOSBox or jzIntv and ports such as Crispy Doom. A reboot will restore the correct aspect ratio.

After testing RetroArch emulators, aspect ratio is correct before and after running AdvanceMAME 3.5 so I suspect this behaviour is reserved to non-RetroArch emulators and ports.

Is there a way of preserving the aspect ratio without a reboot?

@dudleydes - Have you tried the AdvMAME forums. It might be a long shot but it can't hurt to see if anyone has some suggestions. It sounds like AdvMAME is not doing some cleanup upon exit possibly? AdvMAME Support Forums

I recently bumped up to 3.5 and find it does has some issues that 1.4 doesn't have. I keep both loaded until 3.5 does some "optimizations".
