Do games play in their back in the days Aspect Ratio?
-
I got questioned by my friend the other day that if the games on the RetroPie system play in their original aspect ratio like back in the old days which I belive 4:3, I said good ? I really don't know how to answer you that sorry.
My ? Is when you start any game from emulationstation does it play in it's orginal aspect ratio? Now don't go off talking bout shaders, and scanlines I just simply want to know if they do or not. Thanks!

@martinrdgz yes. But it can be changed.

@martinrdgz It took me a while to figure out how to do it myself, but you can control the aspect ratio to your preference. I usually stretch the game to 16x10 myself. Some people (purists mostly) consider that a crime but I find black borders distracting and it really doesn't distort game too badly most of the time in my opinion. When it does bother me it's just a matter of using a controller shortcut to access a menu and change it while in-game.

BLASPHEMY!
haha.
But yeah, every game loads in it's native aspect ratio by default unless you change it. It comes to alot of people's surprise that Capcom Play System arcade games were actually coded originally in wide screen and would be squeezed into a 4:3 aspect when put on their native arcade display. Capcom must have had a keen eye into the future.

Great knowing that they do. Thanks!
