      Hello all,

My first post here. I'm new to Retropie but I'm loving it so far...despite the learning curve in some areas. Anyway...

      I have retropie 4.2 on a Pi3

My problem is when I try to access the retroarch-joypads directory via Windows (in other words, UNC'ing into \retropie\configs\all\retroarch-joypads), I get the following error message...

"\retropie\configs\all\retroarch-joypads is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this erver to find out if you have access permissions.

      The directory name is invalid."

I've been googling how to customize my controller, and many advice-givers instruct to access this folder, so I assume it should be accessible. Every other folder I on retropie I've attempted to open via the network share has been accessible. And, I can SSH via Putty in to the Pi and navigate to this folder...though that is obviously far less convenient, and more prone to an editing mistake on my part.

Apparently this problem is uncommon, because I've not only searched this forum but have searched google, and have found no other mention of this particular problem.

Anyway, I'd be grateful for some help here.

@amishgamer have you tried using the program winscp? Works great.

I have the same problem. And my PS3 controler joystick no longer works.

retroarch-joypads is actually a symlink pointing to /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig/ and my guess is that windows just doesn't know how to follow it properly.
