I've been working on a PS4 emulator for the RPi3 and so far I have a text document called ps4.txt that has the line " #ps4_emulator ". This is a big success for me and I would like to see if anyone could suggest any features to be added.

Here are some features I have considered :

      1. Have a PS4 logo come up when loading the text document
      2. Ability to print text document

I've also thought about some experimental features but these might be a few days out:

      1. Play PS4 games
      2. Backwards compatibility with Commodore 64

If i've missed anything crucial feel free to add to the list.

The printing piece looks very promising.

I hope it will support PS VR as well, and I'm looking forward to the C64 compatibility - that's a killer feature right there.

would prefer a Pi zero, really, but i'm not in that much of a rush. i mean, it would be worth the effort though.

You'll need to build in a feature to download roms from the PlayStation store for free. If you could develop a new compression system to make the roms no more than 1Mb that would be good. We all would like the full library of PS4 games on a micro SD card.

Let us know when it's ready.

I think printing the text file is the main selling point though.

@edmaul69 the sarcasm flows thick in this tread.

@trailjacker I tried to load Uncharted 4 and my Pi exploded. I'm not blaming your emulator, I just wanted to report this bug. The text document is very pretty, though.

@fabio78 that was a bit irresponsible. If you read the FAQ you know that the pi is far too underpowered. You need at least two Pis connected to one another in order to fully emulate the PS4 at full speed.

@lilbud There should be a Font called "Sarcastic" just so people know right away.

I don't have any time to waste testing such a build, it doesn't even have 4k support, i would think if it can print the text document, it should be able to run at true 4K. let me know when that is available and then I might look into testing your build.

I'm confused, a PS4 Emulator on the Raspberry Pi? That won't happen unless pigs fly.
