NES Games Not Saving

So I am a new with this RetroPie thing and I got a bunch of ROMS for a bunch of consoles but the NES games, Earthbound, Mario and others don't save properly.. I usually am really good and experienced with computers but this has stumped me... So if you guys could help that would be great! I tried using the auto save with RetroArch and it did not work.. Should I reinstall or can you guys help me? Thanks!
