Is a text carousel possible?

@lilbud I was actually just workinon that. You can use the default theme that @jdrassa created, but then you can't have any system folders, there is also no way to control the size of the text box, so long names get cut off.

@tmntturtlguy @lilbud you don't have to use the default theme to show text. If you don't specify a logo in your theme it will default to using text. This has always been the case and is what you would see when a theme did not support a system. What I added along with the default theme was additional theme options for the logoText element.

You can control the size of the text element, but you can't currently set the font size. Also, due to some weirdness the text element doesn't increase in size properly when selected. I hope to fix both of these issues soon.

@jdrassa Could there be a way to use the text properties on the carousel text? Like the text properties that affect the game list.

@lilbud Last that i tried it wasn't possible. If you take a look at my simpler-turtlepi theme you can see that i used text on image.

@lilbud you may be able do to something similar to your example. You can't change the color per say, but the unselected text will be slightly transparent which will allow the background color to bleed through.

@jdrassa I'm not sure if this was you or not, but someone on this forum had the idea to allow the changing of the carousels origin. So the selected logo could be in the center, or to the left of the screen.

Do you know who had the idea?

I don't know the details but I think yes, cause the "favorites" and "last played" systems on my Carbon are displayed as "FAVORITES" and "RECENT". I'm pretty sure that they are text, cause when "FAVORITES" is the choosen one looks like there's no room for all the text and it says "FAVORI...".

@meleu I think those are images of text, which is sadly not what I'm after. I'm looking to make something along the lines of this. Where the carousel is all text, no images, and it is a different font for the selected one as compared to the non-selected systems

It wasn't my idea, but I am working on it.

@meleu is correct. The "favorites" and "last played" all rendered as text in carbon. They are not images. You can now set the font and color that the text is rendered, but you can not specify a different font for the selected one.
