@mitu, your point about the 32-bit OS performing better on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W is well-taken, and I completely agree with that for its current state. However, that wasn't quite the core of my request. It leads me to a broader question: what is the reasoning for recommending a 32-bit OS in an era where the tech world is steadily moving away from it?
RetroPie has used what was available and recommended from the upstream OS provider (Raspberry LTD), which until Bullseye was always 32bit system. Our images are based on the previous OS (Buster), so that's why they're 32bit. The setup script supports 64bit RaspiOS for some time, even if it's behind a warning. Maybe future images will be also 64 bit and we'll also provide 64bit packages for binary installation like we do now for Buster based installations - for the PI models that support it.
