Has anyone had any luck scraping c64 games? I have built a system for a friend and all they want is c64, and annoyingly sselphs scraper and the ES scraper turn up blanks when i run them.

Does anyone know how to succesfully scrape the c64?

      Thanks

@spruce_m00se I wrote my own "scraping tool" in VBA in Excel for Vic20 games.
It pulls images and data from Mobygames.com.
If you have some VBA knowledge you could easily adapt for C64.
I'm planning to do it anyway at some point but it's not a priority right now.

I've had a devent amount of luck with the ES scraper when using the manual input option. Out of the 20 or so games I have installed for C64, a bit over half were discovered.

@mediamogul can you expand on this? If i Edit the metadata to be more like the games actual name would it help it find the games?

I also have some megadrive games that wont scrape, for example golden axe 2, i know the database has it because it suggests it as an option for golden axe 1 and 3, but when 2 pops up it says no game found.

its annoying. but until now it wasnt high enough on the priority list to care about. Now im trying to get a pretty system finished I need to scrape better,

When it tells you that it can't find a listing, there's an option labeled 'Input' at the bottom left of that screen. From there you can manually type in the name of the game. This helps in many occasions where the ROM name has too little or too much information to do a reliable automatic lookup.
