super smash bros on n64
-
Hi,
anyone of you got super smash bros. to work on n64? Mario Kart 64 is just working fine, super smash bros. (several different roms) is a bit slow, the audio is laggy and my wireless controllers are loosing there connection. The loss of connection is the worst point.
Pi Model or other hardware: raspberry pi 3 b
Power Supply used: 3A Power supply + 2A active USB Hub
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): v4.2
Built From: RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: 4 controllers
Controller used: CSL Controller - PS3 compatible
Error messages received: game slow, audio laggy, connection loss of controller
Emulator: all standart emus (lr-Mupen64plus, lr-GLupeN64) -
Ok so I've got mostly the same setup. Just to double check have you overclocked? I did and while I don't have the controller issues at all, I do sort of have the others. The audio and video is slow and skippy until I load into an actual fight. At that point it runs smooth. Is this the same video audio problems you have? If not I'll go and get some pictures of my settings for you.

I would like to have a look on your settings. In my setting the game isn't running smooth while fighting. But I didn't overclock my pie. So maby thats the issue.

That probably is it. Mine really needed the overclock to function well. And heatsinks and a fan.

Mine runs ok overclocked at 1200 mhz but there is still some lag/skipping though its almost not noticeable. I was under the impression the GPU was key for N64 not the CPU and I am not sure how high I have that or how high it can go.

It's a little bit of both. These are my overclock settings. ymmv
arm_freq=1300
gpu_freq=500
sdram_freq=500
