*** All ok now, seems a reboot cleared the situation***
Sorry, but I ran into another problem when launching the game from the autostart.sh. The atari2600 core says I haven't configured my PS3 pad (the text flashes briefly in the lower left corner), which I actually have, but from the ES gui. So, now I should probably configure the controls again.
I tried to remap from the Retroarch "ingame GUI", but could not figure out how to properly do it. Could someone please tell me how can I get the controller working? Currently it's only the keyboard that works :/
edit
Ok, the emulator only works with sudo, when started with autostart.sh. If there's no sudo, the emulator exits just before the game should start. I guess, my PS3 pad is now configured for the pi user (the default user for ES), but not for root? Just my guessing here...
Any clues, how make the emulator works with sutostart.sh without sudo?
Thanks :)

@mediamogul Hi, I’m really new and green.
I have tried to get my retro pie to load directly into the game but can’t. 4hrs later 😂😂😂
How do I get my address for the rom ?
-
@kevin-b which pi model are you on, which emulator? I think people will need that info. Also you will need to confirm the rom normally works fine without the auto booting
-
@BJRetro hi pi 3 b+ , Retropie 4.14.29-v8+
-
@kevin-b thanks which game are you trying to boot and which emulator? I have a pi 3b+ and boot directly to teenage mutant ninja turtles running in lr-mame-2003. If you want I can look up what my auto start says for you if that helps. But if you are trying with a different emulator/system it may be far less useful.

@BJRetro hi, I am trying to boot mo3 in arcade , I have tried a million options ~ I can’t find this symbol😂😂😂. It on my keyboard but does not come out correctly.
I’m not sure if there are any spaces.
Could you send the command you use please?
Much appreciated.

@BJRetro mk3 not mo3.

@kevin-b ohhhh yeah it’s because the default pi keyboard setup is British I think. If that is all you need I will find out how I figured that out.

@kevin-b Go to this article to scroll down to United Kingdom then match up that key with your us keyboard - should be near your enter key - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/QWERTY#United_Kingdom its the Tilda I think.
