Is there a way of starting ds4drv when retropie / emustation starts and then terminate when emustation closes?

I'm running RetroPie 4.2.1 on a Radpberry Pie 3 with OSMC as my primary OS. And using my PS4 controllers. If ds4drv is running all the time it sometimes interferes when I'm trying to connect to the controllers back to my PS4.
