OK so I have roms, and I want to see the contents of the roms, the pictures deprecated images of the game. So how would I do that in terminal or any other way?

N64 emulation is the next step :)

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Roms normally contain raw code from chips on the relevent (e.g.) arcade board, cartridge, etc. They don't usually contain images, certainly not in a format you can easily read. If you need snapshots, title art, etc. use the scraper to obtain these.

some emulators have means to view/dump the VRAM contents. i believe PPSSPP does, for example.

to do this sort of work requires some research and possibly a debug build of the emulators in question. the pi/retropie is probably not the best place to do this - i'd use a PC.

@CodeDrawer you'd need some debugging tools at least there are a lot of sprites ripping tools but all of them I know of are pc. No$ has some good debugging tools on his emulators

@herb_fargus Note I use ubuntu linux, so I would like the program to work with that.

N64 emulation is the next step :)
