What controller do you use?
-
Yea boy! Picked this guy up off ebay cheap. Had to take it apart and clean it but works great for fighting games. Different experience.
-
@rig This looks nice. Can you please tell me what brand this is?
-
Looks like a Mad Catz one.
-
Dualshock 4 with USB cable. Never tried to sync it with the bluetooth option.

It's a madcatz fight stick (version 3 I think) They are pricey but you can pick up a busted one and replace the parts pretty cheap and easy. It uses the same hardware from Japanese arcade cabinets.

I am buying my Pi 3 this week and the controller i will be using is my GameSir G3s and PS3 controller wired just until i build my arcade cab and have a proper arcade experience.
-
i use fc30 pro , neo geo x arcade stick or dualshock
-
This madcatz stick for arcade games (i replaced the ball top with a bat top) and original super famicom pads connected via gpio on my sfc case mod.
I tried to use an original pc engine controller I modded for usb for nes and pcengine, but it doesn't feel as good as the sfc pads.

@Darksavior Ever tried a Neo-Geo MVS controller? It looks great... but there is no way you are going to treat a controller you bought and paid for the way you treat one in an arcade after dropping 10p in the Coin Slot. No comparison. The old joke is... "Drive it like you rented it!"
-
This one? I bought the usb version a few years back and it was a waste of cash. I don't remember if it was an official product. Cheap junk. Not sure if i can mod it, but it'll take too much work. The stick clicks too loud for my tastes, and the buttons tend to stick slightly. I made my own Happ joystick case in around 2000 so I was a bit spoiled by joysticks since then. I moved to madcatz with their sanwa parts and that's my preferred choice now.
-
@Darksavior That looks like a Third Party one. Even then, I think my point stands. I'll happily snap an arcade owners' joystick... Ahem, you get me point. I am sure.

@AlexMurphy SNK actually made an exact model like this, I just questioned whether the usb version was official.
-
This is awful too. Nothing beats a SEGA stand up cab, Those things were designed to be punished for 12 to 14 hours a day!
-
@AlexMurphy if this pic above should be the official one made by SNK i have never seen it.
Looks like a homebrew in my eyes, made for a consolized MVS.The other picture shows a NEO GEO X-Stick which came with the NEO GEO X System. Something similar to the Mini NES, an emulator in a small case.
Those sticks were not good indeed. But there also exist "real" NeoGeo Arcade-Sticks for USB made by SNK/Playmore.
These were only sold in Japan for the PS3.
I own one (a 2+ Model, this one had an additional PS-Button) and imo they are great. -

That's a custom stick.
-
@Ranma I have both the wired and wireless VX2s, and for the price there's simply nothing to touch them, especially if you're emulating the PS1.
For arcade stuff I use a Mayflash F300 modded with Sanwa buttons and stick.
-
@spagbol Are the buttons and stick easy to replace? Also why did you mod it?
-
@Brigane i could imagine that he wanted to replace the buttons against better ones.
Quit a lot of people do that.
But there are two religions concerning arcade-modders: sanwa or happ?
I am a happ-guy ☺ -
