@EctoOne Strange, It works on my pi, and I updated from source yesterday.
I figured it out, i had to reconfigure my controller.
Oh and you don't need to create a new image without X = Random or B = Back anymore (at least not for me). I just took your systembg and removed the Buttons, inserted the default helpsystem and used it in a Theme i made before for myself. I was never really happy with it because i couldn't find a good background. Interessting that your simple background was so fitting. And i really like that there is no systemlogo on detailed view so i adapted that too. So thanks again for inspiring me to do some work! -
@EctoOne Could you send some pictures of what your version looks like?

@lilbud Here ya go:

Interesting that your simple background was so fitting.
That was kind of the point of this theme, the simpler background allows me to make changes very quickly. It can also be colored in the theme.xml to any hex color.
-
@lilbud nice. How do i remove the white strip out of my theme? I notice all these new themes no longer have them.
-
@edmaul69 Do you mean the carousel?
-
@lilbud yes
-
@edmaul69 Update EmulationStation
-
@lilbud i did. I have the new one with black screen. I did it a couple days ago. I am assuming i have to change something in my theme??
-
@edmaul69 It should have been fixed with the newest update, actually, the custom carousel was added a few updates ago.
-
@edmaul69 You can read about it here for example https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/2696/input-needed-es-theming-improvements/181
-
@EctoOne thank you. that was the edit i needed to make to my theme. now the problem i have is it made my system icons really really puny and not vertically centered. they all sit at the bottom of the carousal.

hi guys,
I tried using the switch theme but its not displaying properly. I extracted it to its correct location in the themes folder however when I select it in Emulation Station (latest version for windows). It doesn't appear as it's supposed to. Here are some photos:
http://i64.tinypic.com/25pu9h4.jpg
http://i68.tinypic.com/2qtycdu.jpgAll I see is a plain white background and the system names in text format.
How do I resolve the issue please?
-
@makaveeti i guess you need to update Emulation Station. Switch has some features which aren't included in older ES versions.
-
I downloaded emulation station (windows version) from the website -
http://www.emulationstation.org/#download
which was last updated 3/8/15
is there a link to the latest version?
-
@makaveeti update from retropie setup
-
@lilbud i'm using the windows version only. Does version 4.2 exist for the windows platform?
I don't have a raspberry Pi. I tried installing it using Ubuntu on VMware but was unsuccessful. The installation hangs after a while :/
