Made a new topic at request, Running a Pi 3b, 3a power supply, using several differet controllers, official image, Overclocked to 1.35,

Im having slowdowns randomly while playing NES and SNES games, the audio will slow down as will the framerate and then come back, I know the Pi3 is MORE than powerful enough to handle this,

Also while playing games like super mario 64 or mario kart, I have MORE than enough FPS to maintain smooth gameplay,50-60+ at the lowest however, the game seems to run choppy, while running the moving image is not smooth, I have seen videos of other people playing the game and it looks pefectly smooth. The game runs smoothly on my Wii, (emulated not VC) and I understand the Pi3 is more powerful than the Wii.

      Any ideas?

If you get a lightning bolt icon (not enough power) or a temp icon (too hot), then your pi will slow itself down.
I have no issues with nes/snes on my old pi2 and my new pi3 oc'd to 1.3hghz using the official 2.5a power supply. I don't run n64.

I run my Pi3s at stock clock speed and have no speed issues with SNES or NES games. I don't bother with N64. A Pi 3 can barely handle it. When you get into overclocking territory the whole system starts to become unstable.
