Retrorama Comic Theme
-
@lipebello I wish you can add X68000 and VideoPac to your EXCELLENT theme
-
this is an awesome theme than ever, thanks for all of you guys working on this project.
-
I'm glad you're back, @lipebello . Is there any chance you can undelete the scraping overlay that you had on your google drive?
-
@lipebello I really love your work. I know that you make this theme mostly for the rpi (No PCSX2, Dolphin, Windows[WINE]) but is there any chance to add these platforms?
Thanks for your awesome work . -
Amazing Theme! Without meaning to pester, is there a theme coming for Atari Jaguar or has it been purposefully left out? Its the only system that comes up black for me... Thankyou for all the amazing work. All the best!!
-
dam man, your work is incredible, is a theme for the eternity, where we can support you? you deserve it with greatnes.
-
@boxdrop I didn't delete, but i've moved all my stuff to a new folder on my google drive. I didn't know that the scraper overlay was linked on my google drive. I'll need to search where it is and will store on my github account. Sorry about that.
I am working quite a lot on the past months, but i'm trying to make another theme whenever i got some free time. Lol.Edit: @BoxDrop I've checked and you can download the overlay on the Screen Scraper

I bow before your artistic skills. š± May I ask for a 4:3 version? My upright cabinet's monitor has this format.
-
@clyde Add me to this wishlist. I use 4:3 monitor for RetroPie.
-
@lipebello I'm glad to hear your still creating themes! Your unique style is the reason I stated gaming on a pie board. Do you have a patreon?
-
I just got my ext drive with the retrorama files, gonna make some tests to fit the art in 4:3 format.
I have some easier weeks ahead and will try to convert retrorama to 4:3
-
@lipebello this would be very very very very very very sweet!
-
@robertvb83 Made a little test. Is the 1024x768 resolution right for retropie?
-
@lipebello It's 4:3, although I wonder if 1024x768 is a little low for bigger screens (mine is 21"). I don't know how much bigger it could get on the Pi before hitting the vram wall. Here are some more 4:3 resolutions:
- 1152x864
- 1280x960
- 1400x1050
- 1600x1200
-
Also: 640x480, that is what I use and could test. An old pc crt monitor maybe 15" (or 17") or so.
-
@thelostsoul Yes, and 800x600. I limited my list to resolutions higher than 1024. :)
-
The bigger resolution i can test is 1400x1050, lol.
-
@lipebello sorry for the late reply, but this is important.
the standard LCD Monitor resolution is 1280x1024! this is actually what most PC monitors are like and mostly this type of monitor is used for RPI cabinet projects.
this calculates to a 5:4 ratio! not 4:34:3 was a common ratio for CRT monitors but not for LCD monitors
if you make a true 5:4 resolution it will still look fine on a 4:3 CRT
see also this thread, providing awesome Bezels for 1280x1024

Well, mine is 1600x1200 which is 4:3.
if you make a true 5:4 resolution it will still look fine on a 4:3 CRT
And vice versa I suppose. I may be a bit biased since my cabinet's monitor is 4:3, but I think that this aspect ratio may actually cover a lot of machines: TFTs with 800x600, 1024x768, 1600x1200, as well as most CRT monitors.
Don't want to start a ratio war here, though. š

I was looking the wikipedia article about screen sizes and @Clyde is right, 1280 x 1024 is 5:4. I've runned some tests and the images looks good on this resolution too.
