(SOLVED) Multiple emulators by default ??

I have just noticed that in main packages inside retropie_setup.sh, i have multiple emulators already installed for the same console. For example, i have:
- for N64: mupen64plus and lr-mupen64plus
- for nes: lr-fcumm and lr-nestopia and lr-quicknes
- foe snes: lr-snes9x2001 and lr-snes9x2005 and lr-snes9x2010
- for gba: lr-mgba and lr-gpsp and lr-vba-next
all those where not installed by me, it was default in the main packages.
The ones i had installed are only in the optional packages.
for psp: ppsspp or lr-ppsspp
for PS; pcsx-rearmedi see though in optional packages, there are 2 diferent emulator for snes ( lr-armsnes and lr-snes9x ) , i also see a diferent one for N64 ( lr-parallel-n64) would those be better then the ones install by default in the main packages ?

the ones installed by default will be generally the best ones.. hence they are.. the default :)
the extra ones are sometimes useful in some situations. for the most part just use the defaults. arguably some of those alternatives should not be in the image by default, but they take up so little space it doesn't really matter.

I also know that the emulators starting with lr-something it mean that they are using the retroarch configuration, right ? Would it be better to only use those ones and remove the other ones ?
I understand your point with the default emulators but sometime the default is not always the best loll that is why i was asking.

in an ideal world, but sometimes the libretro version is out of date and/or slower than the standalone version. lr-mupen64plus is a "good" example of this.
a lot of thought goes into the defaults :)

What ??? really ??? so the lr-mupen64plus is slower the the mupen64plus ??? really ??? wow ;) you may have just made my day as i cant play any N64 games because it is way too slow.
Can you run N64 games properly on mupen64plus ? if that is the case, i will so trow right away the lr-mupen64plus out the garbage loll
on my pi i have both installed but i will get rid the the outdated one for sure.

Can you run N64 games properly on mupen64plus ?
i'm not sure any n64 game runs 100% full speed with no glitches, but i regularly use mario 64 in my testing and apart from a few specific areas it seems full speed.
