Retropie/Pi Questions
-
Hi, thought I'd store them all up instead of making multiple threads! I'm using a Pi Zero W...
-
I've installed the latest version and added my ROMs. How do I now know which are the best emulators to set as default?
-
Is there a list of the best video setting modes for each emulator for my HDTV? There seems so many, and it can get confusing with the multiple options, so I wondered if there was someone who can advise the best video output settings to use via the Retropie menus?
-
When scrolling through games/options in the menus, there does seem to be a little bit of lag with when the games are being highlighted - any way of sorting this?
-
Vextrex... the audio is terrible - anyone know of a solution for this emulator please?
-
Finally, would a Pi Zero W run any kind of version of Raspian or Noobs? Want to make my little one a mini computer to use paintbrush on and a few basic games?
Thank you

A lot of thought has gone into the preset default emulators to best serve the largest amount of people. If you find that one doesn't meet your needs, ask yourself what the software is missing in your opinion and then seek out an alternative that better suits that agenda.

Again, the defaults are usually best here more often than not. Is there a particular issue that you're noticing with RetroPie on your TV?

I've noticed this myself. I've always assumed it was a side effect of having so many games. Perhaps try pairing your lists into smaller categories?

Unfortunately, Vectrex just needs a little bit of love on the development side of things. I don't think there's anything you can do personally.

Yes and yes. It's a great idea too. I wish I had something like this when I was a kid.

Thanks. Would Raspian or Noobs run ok on the Pi Zero though? I would have thought it would have struggled. I know on YouTube, there are videos of people trying to use the web browser on a pi zero and it's useless, unless I'm missing something?

It'll run a good bit slower to be sure, but it does run. This speed test video may help you make up your mind.
