      Hello,
I am honestly new to the raspberry pi. Though I am pretty technically inclined and have so far been able to make everything I have tried to work (eventually) but seem to be stumped on this.
Thinking maybe I'm missing something easy as I would expect it to be an integrated feature.

I like to run ALL my retro games in 16:9. I understand that is not ideal for most but is my personal preference.

Have had no issue doing said change to all emulators inside retropie except n64.

My only issue is that I am only allowed the option "select retroarch render res for ....." inside the "lr-mupen64plus" emulator selection settings.

The other selections (gles2n64, gliden64, etc.) Have MUCH better, sharper images. Yet I have found virtually no way to set them up to display 16:9 via menus. There are multiple settings for "select video mode" but they have seemingly no effect on the picture. I understand there is a way to rewrite some parameters for the actual emulator but I am currently not ready to take on the project..

@filthimoney you know that the n64 is a very laggy mess without trying to also display it in 1080p right? I cant imagine it even being playable on the pi at that point

I don't know that.. My pi 3 B runs Mario 64 pretty dang smooth.. There is an occasional lag spike when dropping into a world or viewing an area with a long view distance. After I receive my cooling system and overclock I'm sure it will run even better.. It is completely playable at the moment, in 1080p...

Open /opt/retropie/configs/n64/emulator.cfg and replace 640x480 with 854x480 and 320x240 with 427x240. Also open mupen64plus.cfg in the same directory and set the right aspect (16/9 or stretch) under section GLideN64.
