Games refuse to load after reboot, retroarch also refuses to load up and goes back to main screen.

@Domjen2521 Uh oh... looks like the same problem reported here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/11221/runcommand-segmentation-fault-after-update-today
I think retroarch is buggy...
-
looks like ill be restarting from scratch and just avoid updating for the time being. i figured something else might have been afoot. ty for the help.
-
Fine here using latest fceumm binary. I'm using the no-intro nes set if it matters. Look like you're using the goodnes set. Try updating emulator from source.
-
@Domjen2521 can you please post your
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
in codepad.org ? -
@meleu said in Games refuse to load after reboot, retroarch also refuses to load up and goes back to main screen.:
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
Sorry for the delay, had to update the system again to reproduce the error. I have narrowed it down to being retroarch for sure since it happens with all emulators. right now i am just trying it with the nes system to no avail. here is the link it provided me when submitting the retroarch.cfg.

@Domjen2521 yeah, exactly what I was suspecting... :(
I managed to reproduce your issue here and found the bug. It's a bug my joystick-selection tool introduced to your retroarch.cfg :(But I think I've fixed it on my scripts. Please, do the following on your end:
- reinstall the joystick-selection tool using the instructions here
- inside the joystick-selection menu, go to
Global joystick selection
. - the players you disabled input before will be something like
32 not connected
, change those to other config (maybeDisable
if you want to keep as it was before) - try to launch a game again
- report here if you successfully launched the game.

Meleu, it seems that i didnt even need to update it or reinstall it. To test it, i just changed the global selection to disabled again. and it was able to work with no issues. Ty for the help. will now reinstall it and update it as well. It is greatly appreciated.

@Domjen2521 sorry for the inconvenience my tool caused on your system. :-)
-
@meleu no sorry is needed, its part of the hobby to figure out issues and try to have fun with it as well. awesome work as always.
