      I am using a respberry pi zero and the L & R buttons are working properly (just in case anyone asks :P) but I can't save states with select + L or select + R button command. Exiting games works but saving or loading states doesn't. All my packages were also updated so that shouldn't be a problem. Is there something I'm missing? On my RPi2 setup it worked right out of the box.

        @winnetouch which emulator/game?

        my guess is that the pi-zero is defaulting to a non-libretro emulator for the particular system you're using. pi zero's often need to use these standalone versions because they don't have the power to run the libretro version, but only the libretro versions support save states in this way.

          But I'm guessing that it can run gba, gbc and gb games in libretro. It's not THAT underpowered :P Or is it? How do I stop it from defaulting to the non-libretro emulator only for a specific system?
