Trouble running prboom on USB drive

I'm trying to run lr-prboom and I use a USB stick for roms. I'm in a pi 3 and it runs just fine fine from the sd card. When trying to run it from the USB stick it says some error with /home/pi/retropie/roms/ports/doom/doom1.wad. Permission denied. Now I know that with USB that directory does not exist or had been forwarded with USBromservice. I changed the sh file to look for /mnt/usb0/retropie-mount/roms/ports/doom/doom1.wad. But still getting the same error as before. Any ideas?
