AmiiboStation Build
-
Been working on this for a bit. I acquired an Amiibo kiosk from a local game store that was looking to get rid of it and made it into my RetroPie setup. I'll add some pics of the guts if people are interested. I had to remove the android board from the touchscreen and replace it with an LCD controller so I could hook up the pi and other devices.
I have a switch for the lights on the back. I've thought about wiring up some fets to allow the pi to control the lights, but for now they just cycle through colors.I've got a powered USB hub down in the TV stand below it so I can hook up controllers and other devices. I'm using an IR-controlled power module so I can turn it on and off (with shutdown script). I also have an RC522 board wired up for a really nifty feature I put together.

You're going to need a butt ton of amiibos if you have a full romset! Very brilliant though, I am impressed.

I don't plan to have every game launchable via Amiibo. That would be insane. I'm just configuring it to launch specific games based on the Amiibo scanned. For example, right now Zero Suit Samus will launch Metroid Zero Mission, any Link Amiibo will launch Link's Awakening and any character's Golf card from the Mario Sports card set will launch Mario Golf.
