I currently have a 3.5mm to composite to connect my raspberrypi 3 to my crt tv, but was wondering if it was possible to connect with svideo or component. Is there a cable to do this for the pi 3 or can I use and converter to convert the hdmi signal on the pi to component?

@anthonyp555 Does your TV have a DVI connector? If so then you will only need a HDMI-to-DVI cable and a 3.5mm audio cable to RCA connector for audio.
Otherwise if you have component video only then you will need an HDMI-to-component video converter plus RCA cable for the sound.

also check out RetroTink (retrotink.com). i've read a lot good things about it, and plan on getting a tink-ultimate model when they are released.
