      @samsunix said in Retropie menu components not opening vol 2.0-2023:

      I hope retropie devs have not drop x86 support (4steamlink) just because they think there is either lows end pies or high end desktops and nothing between.

      Steamlink is not created by RetroPie, but by Valve. If you wish to have x86 support for it, they're the only ones that can make it happen - but I don't think this will change at some point. There are other streaming solutions for x86 - like Moonlight.

      There's no extra commands in EmulationStation or otherwise that changes the resolution on a stock RetroPie installation. You can change the emulator resolution via from the runcommand launch, but that's about it.

      If 240p set via config.txt works, then I don't see why the same method for 480i wouldn't work. How are you setting the 480i resolution for your display - via config.txt or other method ?

      Please also add the info asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first to your post (RetroPie version, devices, etc.)

      @aerosheik I'm with the same issue using the RP4 and I just can see the boot secuence until the RetroPie logo in my CRT TV appears and then I lose signal cos probably Emulation Station has another resolution and is not the same as when the system boots.

      Di you fixed or is impossible use RP4 with Retropie in a CRT TV using HDMI to a components transcoder? With a RPZero I can do that wihtout problems just changing the hdmi_mode and group like this:

      hdmi_mode=1
      hdmi_group=6

      But I still can't use my CRT TV under Retropie with a 480i output and idk what can I do right now.

      You can try with a different hdmi_group/hdmi_mode until you find one that works (240p modes maybe ?).

      @ohmycommodore From what I've tried out, systems where the resolution is the same as ES (probably 320x240) are fine, it's only when the resolution needs to switch that the problem occurs. You can definitely try it out and just send that command to clear out the frame buffer if you get stuck at any point. The one or two N64 games I tried worked really well, as well as psx games with enhanced resolution and the older systems with one or two frames of runahead.

      I'd be interested in seeing how RT works with Pi4 and Lakka though. I haven't used it much as I have all my PSX games in chd and didn't really want to change them all over.

      The config is the same, it does not matter if its pvm, monitor or consumer. You will possibly still need some tweaks , depending on your TV (to center the picture). That guide is quite old and so may be the timings he listed. I recommend looking at RGB-Pi or Retrotink configs on github, they're more up to date and work with Gert as well.

      @anthonyp555 you can probably buy a converter box and it will work. I have an hdmi to vga adapter and bought a vga to component adapter cable and it did not actually convert to component as it stated. There was no sync in the green connector so it was just a screen full of scrolling blocks of pink and blue

      A little update to my own issues.

      The color issues where solved with adjusting the TV. The games going back to the menu are not an issue with the TV, (duh) I forgot I refreshed the build and probably need to adjust what emulator the rom uses. I'll need to play with the resolutions a bit more to see what looks best, I made some progress with the TV output settings but will probably just run the options remotely through ssh to adjust retropie / emulator settings.

      Now if only I could magically shave 50-75 lbs off the CRT! (the things a beast)
