      Hi all,

I've updated my system to 4.2.13, but all of a sudden all my games in FBA are stretched to fit my 16:9 monitor instead of playing them to what they should actually be in real life. I've never had any issues before the update. 4:3 games would always play as 4:3 with black bars. The resolution has become really grainy as well. (very low res).

All the other emulators are behaving normally.

Any guesses as to what has changed and how I can rectify this?

Should I just force FBA to play all video in 4:3? I've tried doing this via the configuration editor, then going to configure basic libretto option -> additional options for fba and setting aspect ratio to 4:3 and render resolution to video output, but it's still the same.

      Details of my setup
Pi Model or other hardware: RP3
Power Supply used: original Pi one
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.2.13
      Built From: 4.1
      USB Devices connected: iPac2
      File: all of them
      Emulator: FBA

@mediamogul is this the same thing you ran into?

@Evert what exactly did you update? All packages, OS, just FBA?

It's possible, but the libretro cores were unaffected on mine.

You know you can configure the video settings to have them at 4:3 instead which you can see in here https://goo.gl/oiWEzb

@pjft I updated all packages and OS.

@Ecks that's exactly what I've tried before, but the video is still stretched when I change the aspect ratio to 4:3

Fixed it. I reset the resolution via the runcommand script for all the roms for FBA and now it's back to normal.

I did look to see if the resolution had somehow been changed. However, all the affected emulators were still set to their defaults. I believe my problem is that I always update the OS/Firmware alongside the RetroPie update and the most recent changes are reacting poorly.

Since I really don't want to downgrade anything, I'm just going to wait for the issues to be fixed upstream. In the meantime, the only emulator I can't trick into it's proper aspect ratio is Daphne and I can just adjust my television to squeeze the image to 4x3 when I want to use it.
