keyboard stops working while trying to configure it
-
I boot up retropie on my raspberry pi zero w, and then ill hold a key on my keyboard to start configuring it, but then after a few moments (before I can finish configuring) it just stops working altogether. I cant do anything with it, including f4.
my raspberry pi is getting 5 volts, im using a powered usb hub also with 5 volts, and I know my keyboard works because if I use it on a different computer/on rasbian, it works just fine.
im also using retropie 4.2, and my keyboard is an old key tronic that I got at a thrift store.anyone know how to help me fix this?

anyone? anyone at all?

UPDATE: I can press f4 before it stops working and it will work, but as soon as i start emulationstation it stops working again.

I would try another KB / hub - must be a hardware / incompatibility issue.

the thing is, if I put in a sd card with raspbian, the keyboard works just fine. also I dont have another hub.
however, because for some reason it will work when im exited from emulationstation, i can use the terminal. the reason why I even am trying to use the keyboard is so i can set up a controller to work, (a rock candy xbox one controller wired) so is there a way I can set up the controller, then just unplug the keyboard and use the controller from then on?
