EmulationStation localization (translation)

@a12c4 It doesn't look like there's much interest in my changes. See https://github.com/RetroPie/EmulationStation/issues/421
It's not about your modifiaction.... it's more about the Multi Switch script from here - this uses a new method to detect all emulators and I installed some command line parameters to perform some system actions.
A signal handler from SDL framework would be the best choice of course.

@flyinghead My translation file for EmulationStation in GitHub
Tks :)There are 5 messages missing:
msgid "SORTNAME"
msgid "ENTER GAME SORT NAME"
msgid " among other titles."
msgid "grid"
msgid "ENABLE FILTERS"Most of them have been added in my last merge from upstream. Could you translate them?
If that helps, here are the French translations (resp.):
msgstr "CLÉ DE TRI"
msgstr "NOM UTILISÉ POUR TRIER"
msgstr " et d'autres titres."
msgstr "GRILLE"
msgstr "ACTIVER LES FILTRES"Thank you

@flyinghead One more question, because nobody fix it, but i think it's because it is hard to upgrade, do you know how to fix the memory issue in ES ?
My Theme and some others have memory leak and some images not loading fine, we have white square ...
Nobody working on this, so bad ... i don't understand this problem with 1Go of RAM, on xBox we only have 64 Mo and all is working fine. there is a problem with the loading of images in memory and the code that clean them after when we don't see them. -
@flyinghead Sorry! I didn't see it. I'll translate in GitHub. Thank you for help me. :)

Hey guys! Just arrived here! Looking forward the translations. @heloisa, I'm Brazilian too, if I can help you with the translation, just let me know.
Is it already possible to compile ES with your translation?
Thank you all for this amazing work!
-
@harlleysathler Hey! It's good to meet a Brazilian. Thank you for your help, the translation is complete. @Flyinghead can tell you if it can already compile. Tks
-
@flyinghead Add the missing lines and commit. Can you check if it's all right to compile? Thank you :)
-
@heloisa You don't have to compile ES each time you update translation. It's an external file.
For my part my ES is installed there because i use the DEV branch :/opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation-dev
You only have to update this file when you update your translation.
/opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation-dev/locale/lang/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES/

Tudo bom. Obrigado ;)

Here is the compiled file: emulationstation2.mo
Put it in the subdirectorylocale/lang/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES
where the emulationstation executable is installed. -
@darknior Ok. Tks for help me :)
-
@flyinghead Thank you! I'll try now :)
-
@heloisa I did some updates to your translation files in my fork (uppercase/lowercase changes mostly). If you ever make any update, please make sure to use my version as base for your changes.
-
@flyinghead Ok! :) I translated with your French file. Tks

@heloisa Existe alguma forma de traduzir o ES apenas modificando um arquivo? Estou usando uma versão antiga em um sistema customizado para Orange PI e gostaria de colocar em PT-BR. Desde já, obrigado pelo seu trabalho.
Is there any way to translate ES by just modifying a file? I'm using an old version on a custom system for Orange PI and would like to put it on PT-BR. Thank you in advance for your work.
-
@dhector No, it’s a bit more complex than that. You need to modify many source files, either to do a PT-only version, or a localizable version.
-
Possible @Flyinghead to update your fork with the last master branch updates ?
Thanks -
@darknior Done
-
@flyinghead
Thank you very much for your project and tutorial -
@Flyinghead @darknior This is so bad :(
I could not apply the translation. Could you explain me step by step? Sorry
