Pi Model or other hardware: (Pi3)
      Power Supply used: (5 v 2.52amp)
RetroPie Version Used (4.2.10 from 4.2):
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website)

with what goes in to getting the different arcades up and going i wanted to ask before i spent anymore time on this.

i have been trying different games on FBA, which i have updated to 0.2.97.42, and i have complied all the roms with the correct DAT file.

i still have sound issues with a few games, After burner, and altered beast are the two have always have sound problems.
The sound is very very choppy and slow

is there anything that can be done or should i try a different EMU for them?

Altered Beast and Afterburner both work perfectly for me, sound fine. However, I do remember Altered Beast sound being off (voice samples were not correct) prior to ver0.2.97.40. Are you sure you are using a complete/correct romset?

@exarkuniv The system16 emulation in fba has always been slower than mame. Even with the recent fba update that fixed its sound issues. While mame 2003 can play those games, the sound accuracy might be off. You can try mame 2010.
