Simple enough stuff being hard to find.

What you mean people don't read anymore?
-
@akafox He is right this is why i was going to do video guides.
Also... this downvoting... i said it was abuse able.. whoever keeps doing it... GROW THE HELL UP.
Very childish to down vote for the smallest thing without even justifying why.
This must end.. either remove down voting or disallow who ever keeps downvoting me.Also this users name does not show when hovering over it.
That requires a bit of BACK END ACCESS TO THE FORUM AND HER SETTINGS.So i am guessing a admin.
If you don't like me tell me and i'm gone.
Wont even say 1 word further. -
@Xeon Dude chill. Mods dont ban you based on downvotes.

Well it's obviously a mod downvoting instead of saying what is on his mind.
I'm sitting here the cast on my arm has sanded all the skin off my armpit and it's bleeding, pain killers do nothing.
My doctors are not going to help, at work i grind twice as hard and get the same pay, i do this with one hand.I can't sleep, i'm irritable and then somone downvotes for no reason other than pure butthurt.
For the next 30 damn years i am stuck with only my left arm till they can replace the shoulder.
and my left arm is failing me too.Would you be chilled?
So Yeah i am so chilled.
I would rather be dead.

@xeon the only people who can see who downvoted you are mods.
please take this stuff elsewhere. this is a forum for retropie.
-
@xeon We all feel sorry for you. The rest of us have problems but we don't take it out on others that are here to help and share things about RetroPie. Please cry on someone else's shoulder.
-
Hold on while i down vote you... oh too little reputation.. wow.
I thought down voting did not matter. -
@xeon if you really thought that, then why did you even started to be upset about a downvote in the first place?
This is the Internet, there will always be haters, trolls and what not. So maybe you should follow your own advice and grow up.
And as hard as it sounds, losing your arm is not our fault and bringing it up here only shows that you probably have some other problems you should focus on before you burden yourself with more trivial issues like this one. -
@xeon So after all this, have you read the "read-this-first" page and followed the guide about letting all know what your set-up is so we know how to help you with your RetroPie configuration? Anyone who works with computers knows that to fix a problem you need to know what we are working with to help. That is why the static documents aren't a problem when you have an active forum like this one to ask for help. If you want something fixed you need to help too! Please stop making this forum your place to vent!

However.. not properly documenting and updating changes can make the end users experience utter hell.
I am pretty sure this comment above is what earned you a downvote. It's not without reason. Criticizing the documentation is not going to earn upvotes, that's for sure. @herb_fargus has done a tremendous job pulling together a LOT of detailed information so we have a very good starting place. Yet, documenting every nuance and change would be a full time job and everyone involved does this in their spare time. You need to be a little more considerate, or if there is something you find needs work, you could also help! Hell, even I wrote up a couple of wiki pages that have been incorporated into the Docs. I saw an opportunity and added my knowledge.
That's what it boils down to--having an attitude that sees this project for what it is: opportunities to contribute to the common goal for the benefit of everyone. Complaining about something won't get you very far.

Honestly I found everything with the wiki, forum and youtube videos..really everything is there that is needed and can get the newest person started...

RetroPie is plug 'n play. All you have to do is install the image on your sd card, load your Pi, config your controller, upload the roms (and bios files in some cases) and you're ready to play. The misc stuff are the tweaking options. But everything is well documented, you can find nearly everything on the Wiki page and if not on the forum. Most of the config options are very self explanatory, I've played a lot with them just to see what they do.
The guides are fine, no one here gets paid so you really cannot "demand" something from the devs and the community. It's free software, don't like it? Don't use it.
You don't always need to update your Pi. The only problems you might get with updating is that your neogeo/mame roms won't load because the emulator requires a newer romset, so you need to fix that again.
I have no idea why you're bringing your personal problems into this topic. IMHO that's not really needed, we all have our personal problems but it doesn't relate to Retro gaming.
I wasn't sure if the topic starter is trolling or is actually serious. Getting upset about a downvote? The reason why you obviously got downvoted was because of your attitude. You can complain about the Wiki but it's about how you complain about it. You can do it in a civilized manner or in an aggressive way.
I think he's trolling, he said he has one arm but no offense, how do you even play games with one arm? Sorry I don't believe this guy.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
