Updating from Binary vs Source Difference?
-
Afternoon pi lovers
Curious i see alot of people always pick binary but i my self always go with source isnt the source the latest version?
Whats the difference anyway?
Should i be doing binary instead or doesnt matter? -
Source is the latest version but it takes some time to compile. Binary is precompiled and therefore faster to download, but sometimes it's not the latest version.
I always do binary updates first and only do source when I know it's not the latest version. -
@retrofreak89 binary is a stable version. The source might be the latest but could have bugs in it.

How, by looking at a GitHub, do I know when the last 'binary' has been built?
