      My retro pie interface is won't adjust to my tvs aspect ratio. It has two black bars on the side and none on the bottom. I've already try to rescan on and off it doesn't work.

        @bilboiii go to retropie menu, then raspi config, advanced options and change the overscan setting and reset your Pi.
        Overscan is on by default.

        Also, your TV will need to be on just scan or full scan or whatever your TV calls it. Not 16:9.
        If you only have a 16:9 setting on your TV and not a full image then you'll probably need to keep overscan set to on or you'll be missing a portion of the image around the edges.

          @gaavoid nope all I have is just a stretch option or normal on my tv. I tried turning overscan on and off, still in full screen mode

            @bilboiii when in doubt unplug it and plug it back in
