Running on RetroPie 4.2 from RaspberryPi 3 Model B~

Tried to run Legend of Mana this morning and found the control completely unresponsive ... controller type or connection didn't seem to matter at all. (bluetooth, usb, keyboard, controller)
I'm assuming this isn't the only game this is going to happen on... has anybody had this issue and found a way around it?
Other games I have tried (Twisted Metal 4, Xenogears, Parasite Eve) have not had this control issue and play just fine... Also the Legend of Mana ROM doesn't have this "lack of control" issue when I ran it on my PC.

do you have a valid BIOS installed?

have you turned analog mode on, previously? see https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/57mwn9/legend_of_mana_controller_not_working/

@dankcushions of all the strings I thought to search for... The game itself wasn't one.
I have a valid Bios, but I'll see about turning analogue on when I get home.... My issue seems to be the exact same as that post.

@suko are you going into retroarch gui, quick menu, options and changing the controllers between analog and standard? If it doesnt work changing one controller, change all 8 controllers. Also make sure the multitaps are turned off.

I didn't even know about RGUI until I looked it up... Now I understand what was going on....Emulation is on point, the controller doesn't work until you turn the analog button on.
