N64 Control Pad not being detected at all
-
Hi guys,
Recently completed my Retropie using a Pi3 Model B. I have everything running fine, but today I've encountered one small issue. Just got a USB N64 controlpad from ebay, and for some reason it's not being detected at all.
Tried all the USB ports and pressed buttons but to no avail, I tried the control pad on my Mac with OpenEMU - and it detected it and mapped fine with no issues.
I'm new to the Retropie and this is my first stumbling block and was hoping someone else had the same issue & resolved it as i'm at a loss as to how to get it to detect the pad.
I did use search but the topics didn't quite match my issue, as mine isn't being detected at all.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. -
@mmac78 do you have another controller already configured on the pi? If so have them both hooked up. On the first controller press start. Go to configure controllers or whatever it is called. Choose yes. Then hold down a button on the n64 controller to configure it on.

Thank you for the reply, appreciate it. I think I have a faulty controller, It worked once on OpenEMU as I tried it on that to see if that worked, but after just showing up once in settings it no longer does. I think i'll have to try a new N64 pad I think :(
