Help with collections/favorites

I'm such a big fan of the new collections feature! Thanks for bringing it to Retropie. However I'm just wondering how I could easily see if a game is already part of the favorites collection. The only way I could realize that is when I got the "Removed game from favorites" whenever a game has been already marked earlier on. I've looked at the Main Menu of ES but can't find any related options. Perhaps a specific icon or color to highlight flagged games could help? Did I miss anything?
By the way I'm using Eudora-Updated theme and if possible I'd like to stick to it.
Also if you do have a way to properly save a Favorite collection that would be great. I need to double check once again but when I do enable Save Metadata on Exit, some mess occurs in my other existing gamelist.xml files (like items are being deleted).
