@horaceandspider Just an idea: What if you could store settings in the global config (for example aspect ratio) so that if the .uae has no other setting it uses the default?
what i am doing will have at lease some aspect of that. It's possible to work can be reproduced to be used for universal defaults. I have the same issue with my handheld Pi where i need stereo seperation reduced to the lowest value!

@Pyjamarama the old mapping of a single button for quit/menu has been removed since retroarch HotKey button mapping is implemented. You can chose a bespoke button for this by creating a system specific retroarch Config for your controller and pointing the controller path to your alternative file, rather than the one used by a RetroPie.
All the same function as before, but more flexibility.
You can also map mouse controls to your analogue sticks by using the “mouse map” function in the Input panel whilst using a joystick mode (I am going to work on improvements to the functionality of that on the future too, although it does work fine at present, much of the work will be “under the hood”)
@HoraceAndSpider first of all really thanks for your work about Amiberry! I just would you advice about some issue I am having after last binary version update and after setting autoconfig in Controller files path:
- I'm trying to map mouse controls to analogue stick but it does not work, when I back to GUI (just a second later) the settings I made were cleared. Am I doing some errors? what is the exact way to configure it?
- Other GUI settings I've changed (like custom keys) stand in the GUI until I quit from the game, so I have to redo this whenever I launch the game. Is this normal?
- The most strange thing, before updating I had Chaos Engine WHload version working fine, now it starts with no enemy, like a game bug... someone is finding the same issue?
Thank you!

Hi guys,
I have a PS3 controller. I have managed to get my retroarch config loaded as I can play all the games with the controller. However, the hotkey and exit emulator combination does not work. I have tried it with the other emulators and the combination works perfectly.
Should my controller be working in the Amiberry gui menu?
Is there anything special you think I may have missed?
-
Are you definitely using the latest version and have you got the retroarch options enabled in the misc. panel?
Maybe some screenshots and the retroarch controller Config would help diagnose.
-
@marus you’d need to save the game Config in the Config panel after making the changes, then reload that later on.
I will have to look into the mouse map bug although I think I already have a better solution for that anyway coming up.
-
@horaceandspider ok, that's working now, even mouse after setting CD32. The only matter is when a game use both mouse & joypad (like centurion defender of Rome) because you can't have mouse and joypad in the same controller at the moment.
The issue about The chaos engine remains, really strange.
Many thanks anyway! -
@horaceandspider
Well, it works perfectly fine if you select Amiberry as your default emulator. Next time I think I will check before posting. Sorry for the noob mistake -
I m struggling one month to have Amiberry set my XBOX 360 wired controller as an [R] (retroarch controller).
I am not a RetroPie noob (I believe). I have setup a very nice RetroArch installation with all mumbo jumbo.
My paths are correct.
I have tried both Update from Source and from Binary.
Whatever I do, I always get an [N] next to the controller :( -
Just here to comment on how excited I was to have Speedball 2 running on full screen with great sound using a wireless PS3 controller. Amiberry is a wonderful thing so time for me to find my adf collection, amazing work guys.

@HoraceAndSpider Amiberry runs great overall, but as you noticed i opened an issue on github. I have now moved from the .uae/amiga-data combo to .lha files. First tests were great but now i have to have a .uae files again, because i cant set
gfx_linemode=double2
as a global config. I read your comment on github, and hope you can help me here. -
Hello, I did not understand yet how I can load my Amiga adf roms in the UAEConfigMaker, so that the uae files are generated. Do I have to copy the adf roms into a special directory? Can someone help me there? Thank You
okay, I found out now that it must be zip files. I copied these into the folder Games_WHDLoad. Now he has found her and the uae file has been created. But if I start these now always come with WHDLoad: no files to load?
-
The UAE ConfIg Maker is not supported anymore. Amiberry has native LHA file loading which will negate the need for it. The beat use of it is as to have your games unpacked.
(I might leave a working version in place for Cd32 cue/bin disks only)
We are just waiting for the implementation of the LHA support feature into RetroPie.
Please be patient, as i know both @buzz and psyke83 have been looking at it, but these guys do have lives of their own and a lot more to look at than just amiga!
@AnalogHero i assume you are ok now that line doubling has been added to hostconfig settings? I updated the wiki (I think!) to reflect a few recent changes

@horaceandspider Yes, i followed the conversation on github.

@HoraceAndSpider Will you be updating the .xml file ? I had a look at it when it was added on Github and it seemed to be a couple of months out of date already. As it detects using version numbers and CRC some of our games are not going to be detected ? Wouldn't it have been better to use a wildcard after the '_' in the filename then the .xml wouldn't need updating (except for new games) . Are you using RetroPlay's rebuilt LHA's ? (I think everyone should from now on as they can be found in 4 different places and everyone will have the same set). I suggest not using the ones from Pleasure**** tracker as they are very out of date and have missing files.
Looking forward to RetroPie detecting these. Another thing, how would we get a decent scrape when using these filenames with no spaces etc. ? Are you also releasing a artwork/metadata/gamelist pack ?
-
@maxbeanz Use Skyscraper for scraping. https://github.com/muldjord/skyscraper
-
@horaceandspider that sounds great. :-)
-
@horaceandspider I compiled the dev branch yesterday and tested the new value in hostprefs.conf and can report that it works. FYI wiki seemd not updated yet.
-
@HoraceAndSpider, I have been looking forward to this, and I have some questions:
I just updated my whole RetroPie setup including Amiberry. The F12 > Input and Custom Controls sections still make no difference to my Dragonrise Joystick: Up goes left, Down goes right, Left goes up and Right goes down - and no matter what I set the D-Pad to, it makes no difference. Also, where is the setting to just take the config from Emulation Station that has been talked about? An hour of reading through forums and posts has left me none the wiser. Thanks for any help :) -

The XML file will become updatable directly from Amiberry, at a push of a button (like FS-UAE)
I am surprised you saya couple of months out of date as I verified against the latest RetroPlay packs only a few weeks ago. I dont know how regularly those are updated with the latest slave though, but they had stuff from February in them. I have never heard of Pleasure**** etc, and would always go back to the source.
I will not use wildcards as i want to get a more accurate detection. The SHA1 values are not presently used by Amiberry (just names) but that will be the way forward.
We are currently working on an online database which is going to store all compatibilty settings, SHA1 values etc. This means that it will be pretty easy to 'inherit' settings for new installs from the older versions. It is from this DB that the XML will be pulled.
Scraping will be recommended to use Skyscraper, and i'm working with @muldjord on the maximum results we can pull from this. Since the XML will contain both SHA1s and the OpenRetro ID refererence, you should be able to get some pretty comprehensive results when done, although the work done already bulls in a considerably high number already.

There is an issue here with inverted AXIS.
Is the custom panel showing an [R] figure? The setting you are looking for is in the Paths panel. (Remember to use the 'scan' function after setting to another path)
If the [R] is detected, you can try creating an alternative Dragonrise .cfg file and manually swapping the AXIS values, but i think an underlying bug that affects certain controllers might be part of the cause here.
I will look into it with the next controller updates, but i am actually taking a short break away from Amiberry coding for a few week whilst the 'dust settles' on the latest WHDLoad / LHA features.
