Apologies if this has been asked or covered. I'm always a total novice. I've followed the First Installation Guide from retropie.org.uk, but when I boot for the first time I don't get a menu of emulators to scroll through; but a screen with "Retropie" across the middle with "configuration" underneath. The options at bottom tell me to press "A" for select etc, there's an image of a D-Pad which tells me to choose, but I can't scroll to anything.

      Thanks

      Setup:
      PI Model b+
      Universal power supply 5.1v
      Retropi v4.1
Built From Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
      ACER USB keyboard![alt text]([image url](link url))
      Pihut usb game controller
      Installing for first time guide

I have tried to update everything and got an error saying "could not successfully build emulationstation"

Thanks for your help. ![alt text](image url)

The emulators don't show up until you add roms for a perticular system. Since you don't have any roms, you only get the retro pie config menu
