      Hi.

For some reason "steven selph's scraper" does not want to register a game. Can i add it manually? I can see that games have an id in the "game" tag in the xml file. Could i add any number i want as long as it is unqiue?

@djaay This is not necessary for a manual entry. Just don't add the tag to your xml entry.

@djaay you don't even need an id tag at all. You can manually add as many games as you want by hand...you can even type the thing by hand if you want. I have added pirate and home brew titles to my list with info and pictures and videos. Stuff that none of the databases had catalogued. You just need to make sure that you have the correct tags the correct info and the correct closing tags. If your list doesn't load correctly (loads as if it has never been scrape after editing it.) open it on a web browser to parse it and find the error..just makes it simple.

Note that selph's scraper will cut off info sometimes. Not due to the scraper just the database itself. That can be fixed by scraping it with a different database sometimes or just coping and pasting the information into the game list.

Once your list is done you can "parse gamelist only" (menu button [normally "start" button] > other settings > turn setting on) I would suggest you keep it in your per systems roms folder that way you can always get to it if you need to. Make a backup before you edit just in case!

Also note that the built in scraper for ES does not recognise the video tags..so if you use it to scrape missing info or snaps and your video is missing just add the tag back with the info and it will work again.

People want things easy...but then complain that life is boring...
