Hi so I've been using my retropie with a N1-3017 controller, I bought a Generic Wii Pro controller and an 8bitdo Nes pro controller, I want to use the 8bitdo as the main controller, the Wii Pro for the second and the N1-3017 for the 3rd. Though I can pair all three controllers successfully and they work fine with emulation station I can't get them to work in game, I've tried reseting controller configs and start binding them from scratch but I can't get them to work, I tried binding them on the retroarch settings one by one and I still can't get them to work in game it's like all the buttons are mixed up. I can't bind them in game because somehow all the buttons get messed up and now I can't even get in the retroarch menu in game. The whole thing is such a mess. I think retroach cores are ignoring the main binding or is assuming different buttons then the ones chosen I don't inderstand it, please help.

Do I have any other choice other than backing up all the roms and doing a clean install from scratch?

@t0nito the 8-bitdo in the bluetooth options has the 8-bitdo hack. You can turn it on or off and then sync your controller. If you tried it with the hack on, try syncing it with it off and vice versa. But you have to reset up the controller again in emulationstation after you sync it to get it to work in the retroarch emulators.

Didn't work, same issue, the key binding goes smoothy, browsing menus in emulation station works fine, once you're in game it simply ignores the controller, not even hotkeys work.

Ok so I seem to have figured this out and, my oh my, there must be a better way, I have to, with aid of a keyboard bind all the keys, including hotkey, on each emulator, ONE BY ONE?
Are you kidding? Then what use does the retroarch main menu input setting have?

Also, if I assign to 8bitdo as input user 1 on all emulators, does that mean that I'm always forced to use the same controller no matter what? Like if for some reason have to use another controller I have to redo the entire process again???

The only way I was able to solve this was with the aid of a keyboard, you get in the retroarch menu within each emulator, you go to Settings>Input then you go to hotkey binds then input user 1 binds, and have to bind each button on each emulator.

I spent more than an hour to get everything set up...

No, I mean get in emulationstation get in a game (any game but you have to do this with every emulator)and enter the menu from there with your keyboard. Then you can go to the input settings (with your keyboard) and bind the keys to your controller.
