Pi Model or other hardware: (3, model b)
      Power Supply used: (Igloo)
      RetroPie Version Used (4.2):
Built From: (Retropie 4.2, downloaded from official retropie site)
      USB Devices connected: 1
      Controller used: Gameshark ps2/ps3/pc controller
Error messages received: Just returns to home screen
Guide used: (Probably every single one on the internet)
      Emulator: (All mame emulators)

So for a long time noe i have tried getting MAME working. It was working in the start, but after I updated it, it didn't work. I use a romset of MAME 037b11 roms, but every time I try to access one, it just goes back to the home screen. I have tried to use all the emulators, but it doesn't work. The only solution I can think of is to restart Retropie, wich I dont want to do, since I have about 20 hours OOT and Pokemon.

@thebear123 Please don't post links to ROM sites, it's against the forum rules - remove the offending link from the post.

Have you read the https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Arcade/ page ? You most likely have a wrong romset for the emulator so check if you're using the right emulator for the romset you have.

@thebear123 said in MAME not working:

If you do a search on this very forum, it will take you about 5 seconds to understand why. This has been asked thousands of times.
