Hi I am a new retropi user with a weird problem.
      I have retropi 4.3 on 32g sd on raspberry pi 3 b.
After booting into retropi and the emulation station poping up I get the rom screen but never does it ask to configure any controller or keyboard I have attached via usb. this makes it impossible to navigate the Interface. is there somewhere to reset this option.

@cdromce Please post more details about your setup according to this - what did you use to configure your controllers on first boot?

@cdromce I know this sounds like a pain but if the first time you open ES it doesn't recognise your keyboard then you have problems. I would advise reinstalling.
Are you using the official image or are you installing manually on top of Raspbian?
You really need to provide the relevant info asked for in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

not sure this is a purchased image of 4.3 with roms . the keyboard appears to function I can hit the a button and it appears to allow entry into the games and the f4 button will drop it to the command line. also left and right arrows function but I have not configured the keyboard and can not get into the menu, I have reflashed the image same problem.

@cdromce Go ask the person you paid money for it then.

I have reflashed the image same problem.

Reflashed the image from this site? If so configuring the keyboard will be the first thing that pops up. Plus you can guarantee you won't have malware and you won't have to be confused when it breaks, you'll know how to get it right back to where it was from the stock image.
