I'm having a problem with Kodi randomly skipping around when watching a video. It happens infrequently, but it's annoying. I found in a google search that it might be the USB gamepad that's causing the problem. Has anyone noticed this?

@pussyfoot It's the controller passing ghost inputs. Unplug it.

@jonnykesh Lovely. Is this common to all controllers or just mine?

                Found the problem.

BTW, devices which identify as a "USB Gamepad" don't seem to do this (like Cirka gamepads). But the iBuffalo uses an "8-button joystick" driver.

I cannot see any problem in the log. Does disconnecting the gamepad fixes the issue ? If so, I recommed that you report the problem here:

I'm wondering if I might have better luck with v16 of Kodi. Is there a way to downgrade?
