I have a weir problem updating my RetroPie since 4.3.

Last time I tried to update from 4.2, but it took ridiculously long and finally it ended with many "... returned 2" notifications. When I checked console log during installaion I also saw many many warnings about timestamp of files in future and some other.

I though something went wrong so returned to my backup image of SD card which had 4.1 from march 2017 inside. I remember I managed to update it to 4.2 some time ago with no problems. So I tried to "update all installed packages" again but once again, the update took like 8 hours to finish and I also had many error messages with "returned 2" in the end and warnings during the update process.

I don't know what to do anymore, I wanted to update mainly because of what have been added in 4.3. I don't want to do fresh install since I have a lot of configurations here and there.

try to use an ethernet cable instead of wireless, and update the setup script first before updating the packages.

@chipsnblip good point. I also decided to go carefuly this time. updated setup script, manually updated core, uninstalled all optional/main packages I don't care about. then I started update of all installed packages.

no idea what caused the problem, but now it works. update took less than 2 minutes
