PS3 Controller Bluetooth with Xbox dongle

Good morning,
I couldn't find a definitive answer on this in the search.
I have a rpi3B and want to know if I can pair a PS3 controller along with a xbox360 dongle so I could have a mix and match of controllers before I go out and invest in unnecessary controllers.
Also, I read somewhere there was a Bluetooth patch in Retropie that allows the PS3 controller to pair without the PS3 drivers but I couldn't find any official info on this. Can anyone shed any light on this as well?
