Mame4allpi
-
Hi, I Can’t find out to install MAME4allpi on my Raspberry Pi. Does anyone know if this is possible?
-
@thebear123 Sure this is possible but you need to give us more info so we can determine the problem you're having.
-
@thebear123 Mame4all-pi should already be installed. Place your 0.37b5 roms in the
mame-mame4all
folder and you should be good to go. -
@dudleydes Doesn't work. I use retropie 4,2 though, maybe that has something to do with it!
-
@thebear123 We will need more information than doesn't work I'm afraid. Wrong romset ? mame4all is included in RetroPie 4.2 and does work with the correct romset.
Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
-
I also saw that it couldn't find files that were in the folder. That is wierd
-
@thebear123 You probably have the wrong romset. You need to provide more information. Also read https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Arcade/
-
No, I have the correct romset
-
@thebear123 Then we will need more information as detailed in the post I linked. a log from runcommand would be useful also.

@thebear123 press a key when launching the rom, and launch in "verbose mode" from runcommand. Then paste the runcommand log from
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
(accessible via sftp or ssh)You don't mention which rom you are launching. Perhaps you can give the filename and contents etc.
-
Verbose mode is not an option...
-
@thebear123 my mistake (I was thinking of the libretro core) - just launch normally, and the log file will be available afterwards.
-
Parameters:
Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/mame4all/mame "Ms. Pac-Man"
Game "Ms. Pac-Man" not supported -
@thebear123 did you unpack the roms? - looks like you have the wrong rom names - they also should not be unpacked and do not contain spaces. Please show me the rom you are trying to launch.
-
@buzz Does it matter What the names are? Really? Then Thats probably Why They stopped working in the first place!
-
@thebear123 said in Mame4allpi:

Don't rename anything, no roms, nothing. Keep all as is or you'll be in all sorts of trouble! So did you unzip them? What is the rom?
-
@thebear123 Yes. It very much matters in MAME. The emulator is looking for a specific ROM name as MAME ROMs have a standard naming convention.
