No USB unless keyboard is connected (All Bluetooth)Sorry for anything wrong this is first post. I finally am happy with my image and now want to start on some fine detail work. Got all the glitz glam and artwork/videos scraped. But I have setup my system with cheap bluetooth controllers that I really like but 2 things are missing.
Using controller as keyboard on ported games like Descent, Quake, Duke3d and Doom
I remember finding a tutorial one time that executed a script on startup of any port. The script mapped the controller to keyboard events so you can use the dpad as up/down/left/right and use select/start as escape/enter. I want to do this so I can navigate the menus of ports and exit the games without a keyboard. I have searched and searched for it but I just cant find it again :/Gen Game S3 Controllers LED indicating player #
OK so now I may be going a bit out of bounds here but I think its been done with the PS3 controller so I may not be going to far out :). I have the el cheapo Gen Game S3 Controller from gearbest.com. They work great and I like them especially for how cheap they are! There are LEDs on the controller that are supposed to tell you which player you are. Well with retropie they are all stuck on 1 so you have to keep track of which controller is which. I did a cat /proc/bus/input/devices and got.I: Bus=0005 Vendor=1949 Product=0402 Version=011b

Thanks in advance all! Have a great one!

@ramchip With mapping the controller to the keyboard, would you be thinking of xboxdrv and the advanced mapping guide?
-
That might be it but I am not understanding it there. I found a tutorial once that made it easy. I think it was for KODI or Descent and I cannot find it again :(

@ramchip I'm afraid I can't think of what it could be. Sorry!
