Hello, I just updated my RetroPie system to find that MK1 has major sound issues. When I select a character it says "Finish Him!" and coin sounds are gone, as an example.

What happened? I updated all installed packages first, then found this issue, tried to replace the MK1 rom in my arcade folder (no improvement), and then just did a Mame2003 update from Source but still nothing.

I have a Raspberry Pi 3 not overclocked, latest build.

Its a known issue. has to with some speed hacks that were added recently. But a newer version has the ability to turn off those speed hacks. Update mame2003 from source. Give it time. It takes about 30min to update from source. Then go into the RGUI and turn off the midway speed hack.

OK, I turned off Williams Speedhack and it improved, but the intro is all scratchy and glitched when it was not before. A minor issue unless I find something else. MK was fine before, so perhaps something needs to be reverted?

@greenhawk84 They are working on in over on the GitHub. The speed hacks were imported from another version of MAME, but they seem to be causing new audio bugs on midway T boards

As per the latest commits the sound problems with certain Midway and Williams games will be fixed.

NARC is also messed up now :( the sound was perfect before the update, even with the speed hacks turned off the sound is rather scratchy

Thanks for the updates. I am glad it is recognized as an issue. Maybe the speedhacks will help the gameplay once all of this is resolved. I am always up for some improvement!
