Generate launching images

I had an idea but since I know nothing about coding i thought I would just toss it out here and maybe someone smarter than myself could take it and run, would it be possible to automatically generate launching images using the chosen games marquee/wheel art?
I thing this would be awsome if possible

@jwbmonk This is already possible, see the Runcommand launch menu options in the RetroPie setup script (https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand/#configuring-runcommand). Choose the Launch Menu Art option and the launching image will be the game's scraped image.

@jwbmonk That's explained in the https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand/#adding-custom-launching-images, you can copy the image you want as splashcreen and add the -launching suffix to be show as a splashcreen.
The topic you referenced uses this method to show the splashscreens that @UDb23 so generously designed.

This would still require alot of work if there are a lot of roms present. In the runcommand menu you have the art option..

Launch Menu Art: If enabled, any scraped box art you have for a game with show up as a splashscreen while your game loads up.

I was thinking more along the lines of being able to choose which image this uses

@jwbmonk I see - then you probably have to modify the launching images script and add your own requirements there.

@jwbmonk @meleu created an amazing script https://github.com/meleu/generate-launching-images that creates launching images for a specific theme.
What I think it does is take the console images of the theme and create launching images. I guess it could be possible to add an option to use the scraped box art instead of the console image.
